Artist Statement: After September 11,2001 and the subsequent US response I dreamt of The Mother embracing the world and crying out in anguish and sorrow that her children still must kill one another. Her tears fall continuously and copiously, enough to fill up the world's seas.
Construction: Hand-dyed and hand-painted cotton, machine pieced and machine quilted in rayon, iridescent threads, beads. |
