Farewell to Flamingos

Made for the Stretching Art and Tradition #4 display at the Quilter's Heritage Celebration in Lancaster, PA  April 4-7th, 2002.
Using 3 challenge fabrics, the pale mottled pink, swirly brown, and red/orange floral and was to illustrate an endangered species.
The pink reminded me of our faded pink flamingo lawn ornaments, so I envisioned them marching off into the sunset.
Challenge fabrics, commercial, hand-dyed cottons, ribbon, thread painting, tuelle, Tintzl.
