Construction: My hand-dyed and handpainted cotton fabric, net, various threads.

Inspiration:  I reviewed my favorite Georgia O'Keeffe paintings and decided to work with the image she had painted many times, sky above clouds.  I decide to update what one would see over the congested skies of today, and came up with smoggy clouds instead of her original white pure clean ones.

This quilt was displayed at Thirteen Moons Gallery in Santa Fe NM in the juried show "Georgia O'Keeffe" June 23, 2000 - July 20, 2000.

This quilt was displayed at PIQF 2000, Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara, CA in October 2000.

Construction:  Background is cotton veleveteen, binding is satin.  Circles are commercial fabics, my hand-dyed fabrics, tuelle net, embroidery floss, beads, and metallic threads.  Background is quilted in circles around each element overlapping, 1/4" apart.

Inspiration:  Sky/Water, Earth, Life and the percentage comprising the makeup of the Earth. (approximate of course!)
