The Making of Mother's Tears  July 3rd - July 7th, 2002
I took a picture of myself with my digital camera, using the self timer, and converted it to a black and white drawing.
I then sketched on fabric the outlines, then painted in Setacolor paint.
The central painting was then surrounded by blues and greens from my hand-dyed cottons.  The wavy edges were inspired by the edges of continents on the earth image.
Then I trimmed off the excess to make the final organic looking shape.
After quilting and binding, then added the teardrop glass beads for the Mother's Tears.
