Journal Quilts 2004
Made for the Journal Quilts exhibit at the  International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas
in November 2004.
January
No theme this year, except the clean off the top of my worktable idea...
So, for January:
Dark, Fractured Inside
Stolid patient as Stone
Net of Silence

Discharged, painted, overdyed, commercial cottons.

February
Soft, touch me, pet me, cuddle me, wrap me up and keep me warm.
Fleecy pile of fluff, clouds in sky.
Blue, red white blood covered in soft sadness of the year ahead.

Flannels, fleece scraps, red embroidery floss.

March
Points  edges  triangles
Flowers spring sprung
Eostre  Easter Ostara
ATC's

Cotton Scraps from Bullseye cutting.
April
Oval window on scrap confetti party squares rectangles instead of greyed colors, intense non-diluted.

May
Soft and intense spring colors
movement contained by stitching
used greysilver and limegreen alternating.
mixture of handdyed and commercial cotton scraps.
June
Tree Tree
growing green and purple in the summer light
blazing yellow sunny background
transfer crayons on poly for drawn image.
July
Yellow on Yellow.
Textures of different yellowish fabrics.  I love the contrasts between the smooth cotton, rough burlap, shiny damask and soft velvet.
August
I love the back of this one, black stitching on pale yellow.  Leaf shapes, shady purple yellow august sunlight.
September
Garden shapes, ocean waves.  Life green verdant growing swirling combining.  Chuppah making leftovers.
